Commensurate with age, statue has overall shelf-wear. THIS BEAUTIFUL SCULPTURE HAS BEEN HAND CRAFTED BY AN ARTISAN AND MAY HAVE SOME VARIATION DUE TO THE HANDMADE NATURE OF EACH ITEM. THESE VARIATIONS ARE NOT CONSIDERED FLAWS OR DEFECTS. There appears to be a few small chips here and there, as shown in photos (notably along hair), but due to the nature of the carving, it is hard to tell a chip from artistic interpretation. If there were any visibly obvious cracks or chips, we would have pointed them out exclusively. There appear to be no cracks and no repairs. Bells that ring from ancient towers—
Canterbury Bells—
Give their name to summer flowers—
Canterbury Bells!
Do the flower-fairies, playing,
Know what those great bells are saying?
Fairy, in your purple hat,
Little fairy, tell us that!
“Naught I know of bells in towers—
Canterbury Bells!
Mine are pink or purple flowers—
Canterbury Bells!
When I set them all a-swaying,
Something, too, my bells are saying;
Can’t you hear them—ding-dong-ding—
Calling fairy-folk to sing?”
– Cicely Mary Barker, circa 1923
